In recent years, a variety of natural or man-made emergencies occur frequently. It has brought inestimable losses to the people. In the event of an emergency, only through a quick and effective emergency evacuation response can ensure effectiveness of the evacuation within a limited time. It is essential to formulate scientific and reasonable evacuation plans of the emergency transportation in advance. The study on route choice model is the very important part of the emergency evacuation preplan. Optimization of the emergency transportation evacuation route is of great significance to improve the efficiency of evacuation and protect the safety of our people’s life and property.This paper analyzes the characteristics and classification of emergencies, and determines the unexpected events as the object in the study. After analyzing related theory and practice, the defects and shortcomings of study on evacuation route are summarized. The research points out the essences and directions of the path optimization in the emergency transportation evacuation from the point of optimization method for general case. It also analyzes some important influence factors that respectively in the evacuation, such as influence range of emergency, psychological characteristics and behavioral characteristics of people, emergency traffic flow characteristics and evacuation strategy in emergencies, etc. Based on the analysis of the emergency evacuation characteristics and management strategy, it discussed the optimization of evacuation route from two levels. In the first level, it respectively put forward the route choice model of evacuation and traffic assignment models of evacuation from the perspective of establishing emergency response plan after giving full consideration to traffic environment, traffic network structure, traffic infrastructure and the reliability of evacuation route. Then, C language was used to visualize the choice of route. The next level is the path optimization when emergency happened. It first analyzed the characteristics of route choice decisions by evacuees and established the route choice models of evacuees. Then, it proposed how to optimize the route-choice behavior of evacuees by analyzing the mechanism and effect that from induced traffic information. It improved the efficiency of evacuation network, avoided the traffic congestion and waste of road resources that caused by evacuees’ preference. Finally, an example was proposed to verify the optimization method in the evacuation. The results show that the proposed method has a certain significance to guide practice.Through the above research, the thesis has respectively developed the path optimization method toward different phase in the emergency transportation evacuation. It not only helps to provide evacuation management policies and organizational measures which are much more scientific and reasonable, but also enriches the systemic research on the emergency transportation evacuation path. At the same time, it provide scientific basis for program managers. But because of the lack of practical data, some values of parameter in the thesis are mainly from experience, which is pending further study. Therefore, on this point, this study will start further influence on route choice model in the emergency transportation evacuation and the role of guiding information in detail in future studies.
