Analysis Of Taiwan Green Residence And Comparative Study On Green Residence Cross-Strait

Since the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Brazil，1992，the increasing awareness of environment protection leads to a Green Buildingrevolution. Residence，which plays an important role in daily life，is considered to besignificant. China Mainland shares a same cultural background with Taiwan，whichmakes it meaningful to learn from Taiwan.This article is divided into four parts：The first part-summarized the research on the existing research results of relatedindex systems to abstract the definition and connotation of green residence.The second part-analyzed the origins and development of green residence inTaiwan. Taiwan’s green building assessment tool is called EEWH system（Ecology，Energy saving，Waste reduction，and Health）. Based on the investigate of severalGreen Residences in Taiwan，this part gives an overview of design principles andtechniques that commonly used in Taiwan Green Residence.The third part–gives a comparison of Green Residence cross-strait of a fewaspects，such as cultural background，assessment tool and promotion strategy.The fourth part–according to the former three parts，summarized the currentaffecting factors of green residence. This part focused on the defects of greenresidence cross-strait，and gave suggestions for further research.
