Urban roads greening is an integral part of urban road construction and a symbol to evaluate urban development and civilization degree. With the increase of motor vehicles in Harbin, traffic pollution has become increasingly serious. To plant a lot of road greening plants has become the main measures to improve air quality. The ability of greening plants leaf to resist, filter and adsorb dust has become an important indicator to choose Urban road greening plants. Plant leaves in different forms to stop and adsorb dust particles from the atmosphere to reduce dust pollution. On the other hand, the dust particles has a bad effect on plant normal growth. Therefore, dust-retention ability of road greening plants should be considered two aspects: the amount of dust and resistance, but the current domestic research on this aspect of the report is also rare. The study regards some common road greening plants in Harbin as the research object, measuring dust deposition per unit leaf area, dust deposition per leaf and physiological index of plants after dust to comprehensively analyze dust-retention ability of plants. The main content of the research and results as follows:(1) The study for dust quantity of seven plants on two roads showing:1)Differences between dust deposition per unit leaf area for different plants in the same road. Amount of dust of Syringa oblata and Ligustrum sinense are larger in both road, but Acer mono is smaller. This shows that the plant leaf table structure is an important factor affe ct the dust quantity of plants, Trench structure of leaves is conducive to adsorb dust.2) Differences of dust deposition per unit leaf area for plants in different roads, showing that environment has a certain impact on dust quantity of plants. Plants in south straight road dust amount on the whole is greater than the dust quantity of plants in the Chang Jing road, This is consistent with traffic flow.3) There is a positive correlation between dust deposition per unit leaf area of plants and dust accumulated time.(2) The study for dust-retention ability of twelve plants on Chang Jiang Road showing:1)To measure dust deposition per unit leaf area of different plants on the same road and time, dust quantity order: Sorbus pohuashanensis>Prunus tomentosa>Syringa oblata>Juglans mandshurica>Ligustrum sinense>Prunus maackii>Ulmus pumila>Prunus triloba>Fraxinus mandshurica>Syringa reticulata ssp>Acer mono>Salix matsudana Koidz. Dust quantity of Sorbus pohuashanensis is largest, Salix matsudana Koidz is smallest, both differ 2 times.2)To measure dust deposition per leaf of different plants on the same road and time,d ust quantity order:Juglans mandshurica>Sorbus pohuashanensis>Syringa oblata>Prunus maackii> Prunus tomentosa>Prunus triloba>Salix matsudana Koidz>Syringa reticulata ssp>Acer mono> Ligustrum sinense>Ulmus pumila>Fraxinus mandshurica. Dust quantity of Juglans mandshurica is largest, Fraxinus mandshurica is smallest, both differ 8 times.3)Physiological indexes have different degrees change after plants were dusty. To determine each physiological indexes relationship with the resistance. there is a negative correlation relationship between plasma membrane permeability, mda content and dust quantity of plants. Soluble sugar, proline content and the dust quantity of plants exists positive correlation. SOD activity and the amount of dust did not present a certain correlation. finally using the method of subordinate function to rank plant resistance: Prunus tomentosa>Prunus triloba>Fraxinus mandshurica>Acer mono>Syringa reticulata ssp>Sorbus pohuashanensis>Syringa oblata>Prunus maackii>Salix matsudana Koidz>Ligustrum sinense>Ulmus pumila>Juglans mandshurica.4)The dust deposition differed significantly among tree species, and the ranking changed with measurement units selected in the experiments, but no matter in order of dust deposition per unit leaf area, dust deposition per leaf, resistance or dust-retention ability plant are all not appear a significant differentiation phenomenon, trees and shrubs are uniformly distributed in the order. Finally, combine dust quantity with resistance to analyze that Sorbus pohuashanensis, Prunus tomentosa and Syringa oblate can be used as good road greening plants to absorb dust in Harbin. The resistance of Ulmus pumila is poor, so it is not suitable for long-term cultivation in serious dust pollution.
