Study On The Driving Factors Of The Sustainable Urbanization Development In Northwest Region

It has made great achievements in China urbanization with the rapid development of China economy since the beginning of the reform and opening up. China urbanization level has increased steadily. The urbanization rate has increased from43.9%in2007to50%in2010. Northwest region has become the key point affecting the national economy development, the urbanization level of which has ever lagged behind that of eastern region and central region, even the national average level. Promoting actively and steadily the sustainable urbanization development in northwest region are not only important and effective measures to promote the harmonious development of the society and the continuous growth of the national economy, but also the historic task must be completed in china modernization. Whether China urbanization can have a sustainable development has become strategic issues of national economic development. The paper endeavors to research the urbanization in northwest region from the perspective of the sustainable development, explore the suitable urbanization road, and find the driving factors promoting actively and steadily the urbanization development in northwest region.Drawing lessons from sustainable development theory of the domestic and foreign urbanization, this paper presents the driving factors of the sustainable urbanization development in northwest region from these perspectives of economy, society, population, education, ecology, and policy, and analyzes the present situation and the main problem of sustainable urbanization in northwest region. A variety of research methods is applied. It is researched from the theoretical discussion as well as empirical analysis. An econometric regression model is established on driving factors of sustainable urbanization development in northwest region, which is analyzed in the qualitative and quantitative methods on the basis of the present situation. Then the suggestion and measures of the sustainable urbanization development in northwest region is proposed. In the last, it summarized the conclusion, the innovation places, and the shortage of the paper, and makes a further research prospect for the sustainable urbanization development in northwest region.
