The Study On The Library Micro-blog Based On The Public Cultural Space

Being an institution of both social-cultural and social-service attribute, the library has become an essential element in the minds of public as a cultural hub and public service domain, it’s image of public space on the physical concept is widely recognized. With the development of social civilization, the value of the public cultural space that it reflects beyond the physical space to highlight the equality, to appeal the public to participate in cultural information exchange, cultural intersection and so on is attracting more and more attention. This article is based on the current status of the library service and the promotion of the public cultural service system construction, to analyze the necessity that the library faced with the shift of service environment to extend its public cultural space, and to participate in the public cultural services effectively, it discusses the application advantages of the micro-blog as a new media in the aspects of information dissemination, information spread and mass communication, it points out the application spaces that the micro-blog used in the library’s public cultural services and corresponding utilities, and it tries to explore some measures for the library to better fulfill its public cultural space function through the micro-blog platform.Six chapters are involved in the whole thesis.The first chapter mainly elaborates the selected topic background and the significance of the research, and it reviews and summarizes existing literatures and research findings, puts forward the main research thoughts and expresses the research contents and methods. The chapter Ⅱ is focused on the theory of public cultural space. It elaborates the connotation of public cultural space, the public cultural space features of the library as well as the realistic background that the library extends its public cultural space. The chapter Ⅲ analyzes the possibility and necessity of micro-blog’ application in the public cultural services for the library form the dimensions of the information exchange characteristics of the micro-blog, the popular application of micro-blog, the dissemination of culture via micro-blog has become a highlight, the advantages that the public library apply the micro-blog to disseminate the public culture as well as the social utility that the library apply the micro-blog. The fourth chapter and the fifth chapter are the key parts of this article, the chapter four takes the Sina micro-blog platform for example, to count relevant application data of the public library in China, to collect and generalize information of public cultural service for the public library through the micro-blog. Then the fifth chapter based on the chapter four is to explore the effect that the micro-blog’s application can bring to enable the library to better fulfill its public cultural space function. The sixth chapter is about the evaluation and improvement recommendations of the application effect of the public library micro-blog, and it brings forward some suggestions from the perspectives of optimizing micro-blog platform environment, strengthening self-construction of the public library micro-blog and attaching importance to the collaborative service of the cultural communities in the micro-blog platform and so on.
