Research On The Community Newspaper Hefei Evening

With the development of new media such as the Internet, traditional media is also undergoing significant changes. Community media, of which community newspaper is representative, have become more and more mature in Europe and the United States. Chinese are also familiar with community media, though they are still an import. On August10th,2001, Nanshan daily in Shenzhen initiated community newspaper in mainland China. Chinese media’s attempt to establish community media has been ever continuing, with successes and failures. In respect to effect and scale, first-tier cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou are leading cities. Mid China’s Anhui province, with the advent of the1st community newspaper by Hefei Evening in2013, unveiled its endeavor to establish community media. This thesis tries to focus on the communalization efforts of traditional media, summarizing experiences and failures through a comprehensive analysis of Hefei evening’s community newspaper, predicting the future development of community media.Introduction briefly introduces the reason of choosing this topic, object of research, significance of research and literature review.Chapter One introduces and clarifies basic concepts. Since we are to research into community media, notions such as community, social media must be clarified, making them the foundation of research. This chapter also analyses the three characteristics of social media. And briefly reorganize the development of community media in china.Chapter Two analyzes the background, content and goal of Binhu News, the first community newspaper established by Hefei Evening, both vertically and horizontally, and with contrastive study. It reaches conclusions on the characteristics and advantages of characterized newspapers.Chapter Three contrasts three community newspapers established by Hefei Evening for three different districts, discovering their similarities and differences and analyzing the causes.Chapter Four introduces and analyzes a series of community and campus newspapers of Hefei Evening, probing into their development and characteristics.The last chapter deepens the thesis. The author analyzes the problems of community newspapers of Hefei Evening and provides his own advice, as well as making trend predictions on the future development of community newspaper, with the research presented in previous chapters and his interviews with audience.
