The instantaneous attitude of high speed moving target can be recorded by high frame frequency camera. It is convenient to analyze the process of experiments such as missile laughing and target tracking with the image data. Therefore the military pays more attention to the research on the system of high rate image collection. In developed countries, a number of companies are able to produce high frame frequency cameras, while the image pixel and collection speed of the internal camera are lower than those of cameras made in foreign countries. It has scientific value and strategic significance to carry out the research on the system of high rate image collection. This paper made a study on key technology of high speed image acquisition system based on CMOS sensor against the background of airborne missile flight attitude acquisition according to the technical index. The whole system contains image collection module, image display module, data storage module and remote controller unit.Camera Link interface is selected as the connector between CMOS sensor and image acquisition system. In order to buffer the image data,8SDRAM chips are chosen as storage medium. To display the collected image, VGA interface circuit is designed.Using the EP4CGX150DF31FPGA chip, the logic controller unit such as image collection module controller, FIFO module, SDRAM controller, VGA controller, and SD card controller is designed by Verilog. At last, experimental platform is built to test the whole system. The results showt that500f/s image acquisition and storage have been achieved. Image can be displayed on LCD screen through VGA interface stably. The system can meet the demand of technical index.
