With the rapid development of the communication technology recent years,various wireless communication methods emerge. The development of wirelesscommunication technology affects every aspect of our daily life and it promotes theprogress of human society.RF (radio frequency) power amplifier (PA) and mixers are very important parts inthe wireless communication network. And now they meet new challenges with thedevelopment of wireless communication technology.Based on802.11ac WLAN standard, we design an RF power amplifier of whichcenter operating frequency is5.8GHz in the paper. And For60GHz wirelesscommunication system, the paper designs a single balanced resistive mixer. Both ofthe RF circuit designs are in order to adapt to the new wireless communicationstandards.We apply the0.18um SiGe HBT technology library which is provided by adomestic research institution for the design of the power amplifier. Although finallythe simulation results are not very satisfactory because of the inaccurate models of thetechnology library from the foundry, this design may lay a foundation for futurepower amplifier design.In the design of60GHz mixer, we use GaAs pHEMT process technology. Thecircuit is based on single balanced resistive structure. To meet the demands of theproject partner, IF output is designed to be I, Q two orthogonal outputs, and thesimulation results can basically meet the design requirements.
