In recent years, with the development of the intense ulrtrashort pulse laser technology, the field of the interaction of intense laser with optic medium had been widely developed. The phenomenon of filamentation in transparent medium by femetosecond laser caused a revolution of non-linear optics. This paper firstly begin with the filamentation in nonlinear optic media, introduce the development of supercontinuum inland and abroad, and the application of supercontinuum. And then the mechanism of the generation of femtosecond supercontinuum. Such as the self-focusing, self phase modulation, multiphoton ionization and so on. Then introduce the advantage of filemantation in solid optic media. Describe the character of filamentation in fused silica, and then explain the physical phenomenon produced in fused silica. Describe the supercontinuum in barium fluoride, and we explore the rule of the phenomenon by changing the parameters of experimental facilities, then discuss the new way to control the beginning of filamentation.
