With the development of production technology the quality requirement of quartz tubeproduct is higher, but the traditional detection method of product quality is mainly artificial,which can not guarantee the efficiency and accuracy. Therefore, the research on machine visionbased on image processing technology which is applied to measuring bubble defect of quartztube will be of great importance. However there is a strong reflective phenomenon for quartztube in the light which will make the collected bubble defect image distortion and flood thebubbles.First, reflection and refraction of the parallel light wave in isotropic medium boundarysurface is analysed. The incidence angle is optimized combining the the relationship betweenreflectivity with the incidence angle. A lighting system in the axis is proposed. The reflectivityphenomenon of quartz tube in the hot light is restrained effectively in the image acquisition link,rather than eliminating reflective effect in the later processing, which will simplify the softwareprocess and improve the efficiency. Secondly, under the lighting system in the axis, the hardwareequipment is choosed, the quartz tube bubble defect image acquisition platform is built, clearbubble defect image can be collected. Again, processing the collected bubble defect image, amethod of filtering small noise is put forward, i.e., the area of threshold selection method, whichfilter the bubble defect image noise successfully and extract bubble defect characteristics. Then,carry out calculation, experiment and analysis, execute Simulink simulation. The simulationresult is consistent with MATLAB programming the result. Finally, design MATLAB GUItesting interface which realizes the entire process from bubble defect image acquisition to theresult analysis, conveniently and quickly.Eexperiment testing system is set up which meet the system technical requirements,overcome the deficiency of the artificial detection method, and effectively detect qualifiedproducts, improve the detection efficiency and precision and possess a lot of advantages andwide development and application prospect.
