As embedded systems on the integration and development of network technology andvideo technology, video monitoring system has been gradually applied to the intelligentsecurity, intelligent transportations, bankings, medical services and various fileds. Aimmingat the disadvantages of current video monitoring system such as complex structure, high cost,not easy networking and inconvenient query, the thesis chooses to transplant Linux system onthe current popular ARM9processor to build a remote video monitor and moving targetdetection and alarm system based on IP network.The thesis gives the overall design scheme and summarizes the implementation of thehardware principle and soft thought in whole system. The key work of the thesis is as follows:Firstly, aimming at the different needs of different target board, the thesis puts forward tocustomize a cross toolchain with crosstool by one-time compilation. And Bootloader, kernel,yaffs2filesystem are transplantated successfully. They are ready for the software environmentof the whole system development.Secondly, the program design of video collection, compression and transportation underV4L2interface standard is researched. The thesis puts forward to optimize the file operationof libjpeg and realizes sending one frame image when the collection and compression arecompleted combining with linux multithreading technology.Thirdly, the CGI scripts used by interacting information between the embedded Webserver and the user’s browser is researched, and through embedding the Java Applet script inHTML, the thesis successfully implements the user’s brower automatically loading anddisplaying the video images of JPEG format which are sended by the network port.Fourthly, aiming at that the system is mainly used in static background, the thesis putsforward to extract luminance Y information from moving target using the method of framedifference in the time domain. The validity and superiority of this approach are demonstratedby experiment. And the approach is successfully used to detect the moving targets and alarmunder the embedded video monitoring.Through jointly debugging the system, the thesis designs and implements a networkvideo monitoring and moving target detection and alarm system based on embedded Linuxsuccessfully. The design cost of the system is low, and the system achieves the purpose ofreal-time monitoring and moving target detection.
