Abstract:With the advantage of good bending property and variable structure, wire ropes, as traction and load-bearing components, are widely used in transportation, port, coal, and other fields. Some damage maybe happen when the wire rope was running, such as fracture, wear, corrosion etc. Detecting the wire rope damage state, to repair or discard the damaged ones, is very important and necessary for the safety of life and production process. There are some problems with the wire rope detection equipments now, such as low accuracy, complex interface. For this reason, a new wire rope damage detection system was designed, which is based on virtual instrument technology and the research on signal processing and quantitative recognition algorithm. Then the MSA technology is used to verify the new system.Firstly, the structure, common damage and the causes of wire rope was researched in the article, and the status of wire rope damage detection methods were studied, especially the magnetic flux leakage detection.Secondly, according to the signal of the broken wires, the detection algorithm was determined through simulation eventually, on the basis of the acquisition signal processing theory and quantitative identification algorithm research. Compared to the traditional ways to eliminate noise, the wavelet de-noising method was used. And the improved BP neural network model was built to achieve quantitative identification of the damage signal.Thirdly, refer to detection system designing scheme, designing the detection system, which can be divided into hardware and software. After the completion of major hardware components was selection and the hardware platform was completed, the new software was designed by Lab VIEW. Which can achieve flowing four functions:data acquisition, signal analysis and processing, quantitative identification, results display and preservation.At last, several broken wire rope was detected on the new built wire rope damage detection system and MSA method was used to evaluate the system. According to the accepted principles in MSA manual, calculate the Kappa, to evaluate the consistency of valuators and valuator with reference to determine whether the detection system could be acceptable or not.The work described in the article, still existed some problems. A certain outlook to the content and direction of the follow-up study was made.
