With the rapid development of computer technology, the traditional design method of mechanical products which should build physical prototype model has been gradually replaced by advanced virtual prototype technology.There is no need to produce physical prototype by using advanced virtual prototype design method. Designers just need to use computer software to build virtual models of products, then simulate and analyze these models in a digital way real timely. At present, this design method has been widely used in all kinds of product development field.Modern numerical control technology is the sign of the development of manufacturing industry. However, the lack of numerical control professional talents in our country has become an indisputable fact. The main reason causing this problem is that lacking of CNC teaching equipment, existing equipment is old and seldom operating practice in NC personnel training school. In order to improve the situation of insufficient equipment configuration, a new kind of economy3DOF CNC teaching experimental platform is designed in this paper. This platform not only realized the purpose of training students in theory and real operating method, but also equipped with the software and hardware secondary development interfaces with which students can deeply explore and research NC technology. So the platform helps us to train qualified NC personnel.The3DOF CNC teaching experimental platform was systematically studied based on the virtual prototype technology in this paper. First of all, the platform’s entity model was obtained by using of SOLIDWORKS three-dimensional modeling software and its feasibility analysis of structure was got. Then the three-dimensional mode was imported into ADAMS virtual prototype software and its attributes was set to verify the model’s kinematics characteristics. Third, after building control system model relevant components were selected and control program was written. At last, the platform was simulated with ADAMS/CONTROL and MATLAB/SIMULINK. The results of the joint-simulation shows that the platform’s dynamic characteristics and the structure design of the platform are rational. The simulation results show that the3DOF CNC teaching experimental platform is reasonable and reliable, and it can produce practical effect for CNC talents training.
