In recent years,DSP technology has a rapid development. In today’s digital context,a growing number of digital signal processing are applied to the application system,especially in image processing field. With the rapid development of economy andsociety,Infrared Focal Plane Array technology and Infrared Thermal Imagingtechnology is more and more mature. Infrared Imaging Systems get more and moreattention in military and commercial application and they have a very broadapplication prospects. Because of uncooled far infrared system’s low price, distancemonitoring, high reliability in the infrared imaging system,it occupies a very importantposition, attaching great importance at home and abroad.Non-uniformity Correction,Image Enhancement and Blind Pixels Compensationare the several important directions of the Infrared Image Processing.The systemintroduces the non-uniformity due to the various aspects of materials and themanufacturing process.To solve the problem, an improved method is proposed basedon an in-depth study of Non-uniformity Correction algorithm for infrared focal planearrays. On this basis,the data stream is processed by Image Enhancement algorithmand implemented on DSP, so that the video display achieves the desired effect.Firstly, the paper introduces the development and current situation of the infraredimage technology,and then gives a detailed introduction about Image Enhancementalgorithms in the basic image processing technology.The key algorithms are realized inthe far-infrared system,then do the research on non-uniformity correction algorithm.Anew correction algorithm is proposed based on the existing non-uniformity correctionalgorithm, and simulates algorithm, the experiments show that the algorithm does havecertain advantages.Secondly,for the first self-developed infrared focal plane array,thesystem and peripheral module are designed based on the DSP+FPGA which is a goodhardware platform for the realization of the entire system.DM64X series produced by TI have a strong signal processing capabilities,whichis the ideal platform for image processing algorithms. And then the paper introducesthe software part of the whole system, software logic functions of FPGA and DSP, thekey procedures about the driver of DSP and video coder in detail. The whole systemrealized the desired function,and the performance results of the system are given.Design of the system will be applied directly to the cooperation grant-aid project of ChangChun Institute of Optics,having a strong practical significance,and the design onDSP also has certain reference value for the practical application.
