Since China’s reform and opening up, with the establishment of socialist market economy, China’s economic development presents an unprecedented change. Especially in recent ten years, the urbanization process and social mobility speeding up, both rural and urban, under the circumstances of social transformation, people’s thought liberation, change idea, material and spiritual life has had the greatly improved. Hui is the one of most widespread nation in our country, in the process of urbanization, because of the economic behavior and the impact of modern culture, Hui nationality’s traditional culture, the national consciousness, areligious identity; and various fields are under great challenge. Which performance particularly prominent and significantly changes is the Hui culture of marriage and fertility.In order to learn more about the cultural status quo of Hui marriage and fertility, I choice my hometown Xishang Village in Hualong County as research subject, with Ethnology perspective, use ethnology, history, sociology, literature and field survey data combined with local, before the reform and opening up, after the Xishang Village Hui society as the focus, through a comparative study of the different periods of marriage and fertility concepts, analysis of the process of urbanization, changing economic factors caused the Hui Nationality marriage and fertility concept, social factors, historical factorsas well as the spread of culture. This marriage and child rearing concept change, to some extent, also changed the traditional family structure and function of the Hui,had a profound influence on the development of the Hui Nationality society.This article mainly includes five parts:The First Chapter, Introduction. Elaborated and discussed the selected topic reason, the research significance, research status,as well as the related concepts and research methods, basic overview of the survey area are described.The second chapter, traditional concept of marriage and procreation of Hui Nationality in Xishang Village.Including Xishang Village Hui Nationality traditional wedding ceremony, mate choice and fertility concept before the reform and opening. Hui Nationality production lifestyle backward and traffic closed is the reason for the backward ideas of marriage and childbearing.The third chapter, marriage and fertility concept change of Hui Nationality in Xishang Village. Discussed by comparison with the concept of traditional marriage and childbirth, different ages, different views of the different periods of awareness of the concept of marriage and fertility, and pointed out that in the process of social development, Hui by the influence of urbanization and ideas on marriage and childbearing has undergone great change.The fourth chapter, the influencing factors of marriage and fertility cultural changes in Xishang Village. Cultural changes broke the previous static, closed rural society. The main factors of cultural changes are Hui marriage and fertility economic factors, social factors, historical factors and the role of cultural transmission.In chapter five, marriage and fertility concept changes of the Hui community.
