From the perspective of sociology labeling theory, the study selects problem students as a case,combing with observations and interviews in educational practice,exploring the be-labeled process of them and the characteristic manifested in the process,then I provide some maybe-helpful thoughts.The study provides an insight into education equity theory and its practice in the field of first-line teaching.It promotes the reform of teaching theory and learning theory,and reflects the requirements of the new curriculum reform.This study found that in school the formation of problem students is not so much the students themselves,but rather than teachers and other students. They are the significant others who affect students into problem behaviorer.There are three steps in the be-labeled process. Firstly, the preparative phase of be-labeled process.Teachers form basic judgement about students,it’s the source of be-labeled process. Secondly,the implemental phase of be-labeled process.The student are been labeled problem behaviorer,it’s a key step in the be-labeled process,then head teachers and subject teachers conspire to express some pressure to problem students;problem students are excluded by peer group,these factors catalyze students into the role of problem behaviorers.Thirdly,the formative phase of be-labeled process.Problem students internalize the awareness of themselves, they accept the self-concept of problem behaviorer and behave according to the role. The be-labled process shows three features:interactive,selective, stereotyped.The lable play a role in the be-labled process of preparation, implementation and formatation. Students are labled selectively by teachers according to figure,things and time. The feature of interactive run through the be-labled process and disadvantage students are more likely to be labeled.Teachers hold stereotyped image about problem student,and affect the fairness of the evaluation about them. These features could deepen our understanding of the be-labeled process. About the conversion of problem students, from the individual aspect of treating problem students,there seems to be some links between teacher expectation theory and labeling theory,the positive effects of teacher expectation are able to offest the negative effect of labeling theory.The result of randomly labeling is consistent with the negative effects of teacher expectation. From the group aspect,buliding a safe class will attract problem students back to the group, group strength is able to guide and help them. Positive expectations of teachers and safe classroom can form a harmonious and comfortable atmosphere, this enable students to grow as a physical and mental health, and all-round development person.There are many factors in the forming process of problem student.In schoolteachers are the main source of inflence,but when students back to the social environment,family and social factors also play important roles.We should avoid the negative impacts and exert the effective impacts,thus it can be helpful to convert or avoid problem student.
