Taking the falsification problem as the research object, For this basic problem in the field of science philosophy, Popper and Quine take the opposite viewpoint:Popper believes that the theory is falsifiable, or even the measure of the scientific status towards a theory is the falsifiable nature of it; And Quine’s holism believes that the Inspection of the unit is the whole knowledge, once examined the theory as a single unit, it can be falsified, and can also be from being falsified, whether can it be falsified is based on the choose of main belief. Take this problem as an juncture, the article clarified the theoretical construction of Popper and Quine’s Falsification Conception in the form of a comparative study. At the same time, point out the clash point of two Falsification Conception, reveals the theoretical roots behind the clash, at the same time, a detailed comparison for the other related questions are given, for example the background of the theory, the origin point of the theory, the growth of knowledge, the advantage, disadvantage. Significant, etc.Popper and Quine’s theory reveals the basic characteristics and development of the "science":Popper and Quinn believe that scientific knowledge is only hypothesis,is to explain the world, to predict the future, there is no certainty of knowledge. Popper stressed the important role of falsification, conflict, and the revolution, Popper believes that the growth of scientific knowledge is to follow the dynamic growth model:P1â†'TTâ†'EEâ†'P2; Quinn against the falsification, believes that growth of scientific knowledge rely on the choose of belief selection. But, as the science does not have certainty, Popper and Quine’s theory construct does not have certainty also, only describe the characteristics of science, they are conjecture and hypothesis only. Therefore, Popper and Quine’s theory do not matter true or false, the difference is only the method, the effort, the scope, to explain the world. This paper argues that Popper and Quine’s conception not only reflects the different views of philosophy schools, but also the respective scientific methods:Popper’s conception is close to Logical positivism’s method, Quine’s holism reflects the method of Pragmatism;the different view toword the background knowledge reflects the difference between Correspondence and Coherentism. So, the differentl Falsification Conception reflects the different epistemological ideas.
