Objective To understand the current status of injury death, and to analysisthe distribution of injury death cause and the burden of injury death in Guangxiprovince from2008to2012, then to provide a scientific basis for preventing andcontrolling injury.Methods data Collection: the injury death data from death surveillancesystem of seven Disease Surveillance Points during2008to2012in GuangxiCDC. The surveillance data of death were analyzed by indicators such asmortality, standardized mortality, the percent rate, years of potential life lost(YPLL), standardized years of potential life lost (SYPLL), average years ofpotential life lost (AYPLL), YPLL rate(YPLLR), SYPLL rate (SYPLLR),working years of potential life lost (WYPLL), standardized working years ofpotential life lost (SWYPLL), average working years of potential life lost(AWYPLL), valued years of potential life lost (VYPLL), standardized valuedyears of potential life lost (SVYPLL), average valued years of potential life lost(AVYPLL), potential economic losses (PEL) and average potential economiclosses (APEL). Excel2007were used to statistical analyze data, SPSS16.0wasused to statistical test data. Results (1) In the population during2008to2012in seven SurveillancePoints of Guangxi province, totally94844deaths reported and the averagemortality was559.74per100000, among which662.74per100000are male,445.56per100000are female. The first five death causes were: circulatorysystem diseases, malignant tumor, respiratory diseases, injury and digestivesystem diseases.(2)8914people died of injury between2008and2012,theaverage injury mortality was52.61per100000,the standardized mortality was58.49per100000. Injury mortality of male was2.38times than female. Thefirst five leading causes of injury death were traffic accidents, followed by falls,drowning, suicide and poisoning.(3) The injury mortality was higher in malesthan in females, and higher in rural than in urban.(4) The causes of injury deathwere different in different age groups. Drowning was the most important causefrom0to14years old. Traffic accidents was the first cause from15to70yearsold. In the population over than70years old, falling down was the first cause.(5)The first five leading burden of disease of injury death were: traffic accidents,drowning, suicide, falling down and poisoning. Traffic accidents brings thelargest burden of disease. In all types of injury death, drowning death brings thegreatest burden of disease for each person.Conclusion Injury death was the forth death cause. In all the causes ofinjury death,the first five leading causes were traffic accidents, falls, drowning,suicide and poisoning. The death causes were different from different areas, twosexes and age groups. Injury death was the main cause due to prematuremortality, the heaviest burden of disease were traffic accidents and drowning. Itis necessary for the government to take corresponding measures to prevent andcontrol injury in accordance with the actual situation of the local.
