OBJECTIVE:To explore the expression of Eukaryotic Initiation Factor-4A (eIF-4A) and Cyclin D1in endometrioid adenocarcinoma and their clinical significance.METHODS:Immunohistochemistry was carried to detect the expression of eIF-4A and Cyclin D1in differential endometria tissues respectively.RESULTS:The positive expression rates of eIF-4A in endometrioid adenocarcinoma tissues(76.7%) was significantly higher than those in normal endometria(20.0%),(X2=38.72,P<0.01). The overexpression of eIF-4A were significantly related to the clinical stage (X2=13.36,P<0.05), lymph node metastasis (X2=4.36, P<0.05) and histological grading(X2=12.32,P<0.05). The positive expression rates of Cyclin D1in endometrioid adenocarcinoma tissues was significantly higher than those in normal endometria(X2=46.73,P<0.01). The Cyclin D1expression was significantly associated with histological grading(X2=24.73,P<0.05) and lymph node metastasis (X2=5.24.P<0.05). There was an positive correlation between Cyclin D1and eIF-4A (r=0.824P<0.01).CONCLUSION:eIF-4A and Cyclin D1had cooperative effect and may play an important role in the developement and progression of endometrial cancer.
