The Study On Treating Ulcerative Colitis With Li DongYuan’s"Yin-Fire" Theory

Objective: To explore the the background, academic origins, theoretical connotation of Li DongYuan’s Yin-Fire theory,and discuss the etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis, and the mechanism of the theory, in order to prove the feasibility of treating ulcerative colitis with nourishing the spleen and stomach, lifting Yang-Qi, reducing Yin-Fire, and provide a new theoretical guidance and a new kind of therapy.Method:On the basis of a systematic study of the related works of Li Dong Yuan,collected and collated the theories of ancient physicians about Yin-Fire, systematically summarized and explained in theoretical connotation of Yin-Fire, and researched the Traditional Chinese Medicine name of ulcerative colitis, related organs, TCM etiopathogenisis and pathogenesis, and investigate the relevance between Yin-Fire theory and ulcerative colitis, and the clinical application for ulcerative colitis.Result:1.Yin-Fire theory is the core of Spleen-Stomach Theory, which is based on "the fever caused by yin deficiency". It is the system theory of the theory, therapy, recipe, and drugs for digestive diseases.The weakness of the spleen and stomach, the deficiency of qi, the subsidence of Yang-Qi, and the internal yin fire is the main content of Yin-Fire theory.2. Yin-Fire theory is related with the the change of pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis. The weakness of spleen and stomach, the abnormal movement of qi,the subsidence of dampness and the stagnation of heat in the lage intestine are the basic pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis.3. The Yin-Fire theory has practical significance for treating ulcerative colitis with the treatment of nourishing the spleen and stomach, lifting Yang-Qi, reducing Yin-Fire.4. The17Lifting Yang-Qi Prescriptions of Yin-Fire theory can help with digestive diseases,especially ulcerative colitis.Conclusion: Yin-Fire theory is scientific and practical for treating ulcerative colitis.
