Recognition And Analysis Of TCM Constitution And Relevant Factors Investigate Of The Elderly In Chengdu Community

Object:Through investigating the TCM constitution of60years old to90years old elderly population from the Chengdu caotang community, to analysis the characteristics of TCM constitution of different gender and different age groups, pathological physical health guidance,so as to support epidemiological survey data for disease control and prevention of older age groups for, the Chinese health care, public education and so on of TCM constitution dialectical.Methods:We used cross-sectional survey method and physical identification system gathering the tongue, face and vein information to identify the TCM constitution in the form of questionnaires and scales. And then determinate the TCM constitution type, statistically analyze the survey results, and draw conclusions.Results:among the665questionnaires,43persons (representing6.47%) were peaceful quality while the other622persons (representing93.53%) were biased quality which includs162persons (representing24.36%) in Qi Deficiency,84persons (representing12.63%) in Yin Deficiency,103persons (representing15.49%) in Dampness,52persons (representing7.82%) in Qi Stasis,30persons (representing7.82%) in Yang Deficiency,138persons (representing20.75%) in Hot and Humid,8persons (representing1.2%) in special intrinsic constitution and45persons (representing1.2%) in Blood Stasis. Gentleness and yin deficiency constitution were significantly more in male than that in women while Qi deficiency and qi quality constitution were more common in female than in male. The different aged elderly had obviously different physique constitution. Qi deficiency constitution possessed high proportion in each group, and gentleness and qi stagnation constitution reduced by the increasing age of the elderly while blood stasisconstitution was on the contrary. For male, damp-heat and phlegm constitution took a heavier proportion of all ages, while yin deficiency and blood stasis constitution increased with age increasing. For female, yin deficiency and blood stasis constitution increased with age increasing.Conclusion:Through this epidemiological investigation of TCM constitution identification of elderly population of the Chengdu caotang community, we found tha male and female physique constitution were obviously different. It revealed the distribution pattern of TCM constitution types of community elderly population in Chengdu, brought benefit to improving the quality of health for the elderly population, and had important practical value.
