Objective:The aim of this study was to establish the reference intervals (RIs) for ALT, TBIL, DBIL, CREA and UREA in healthy adult individuals aged between20and59years old in Haikou area. We compare the differences of these RIs between Haikou area and other areas. Methods:According to the recommendations of CLSI C28-A3document and WS/T402-2012,5350persons were recruited from four districts in Haikou by the principle of stratified cluster random. Comprehensive physical examination, ultrasound, ECG, laboratory tests were carried out. Abnormal subjects were precluded on the basis of predefined biochemical and clinical criteria. Profession statistical methods were applied to decide whether the RIs ought to be divided into gender and/or age groups or not. Comparing the RIs in different areas and analyzed the correlation between BMI and the above five biochemistry indexs. Results:Significant differences between different genders were found among the RIs of ALT, TBIL, DBIL, CREA and UREA, but there did not show statistically-significant difference (P>0.05) among the four groups age groups. RIs based on gender were established as ALT:6-48U/L for Male,4-35U/L for Female; CREA:73-132μmol/L for Male,56-108μmol/L for Female; TBIL:7.7-26.3μmol/L for Male,6.6-24.6μmol/L for Female; DBIL:0.5-5.4μmol/L for Male,0.4-4.8μmol/L for Female; UREA:2.2-6.8mmol/L for Female,1.8-6.2mmol/L for Female. The upper reference limits of ALT, TBIL, DBIL and UREA in Haikou area were founded to be lower than those in somewhere else. On the contrary, the upper reference limit of CREA was higher. ALT, CREA and UREA had positive correlation with BMI.Conclusion:The RIs of ALT, TBIL, DBIL, CREA, UREA are difference statistically in gender and not significant difference statistically in age groups. The RIs established in Haikou area can be used as a local clinical and laboratory reference.
