Translation And Validation Of The Verona Service Satisfaction Scale In Mental Health Of Changsha

Objective:1.to translate the verona service satisfaction scale (VSSS-54) into Chinese, make it useful in the mainland of China.2. to examine the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the VSSS.3. to explore the satisfaction in inpatients with mental disorders in changsha, and its affected factors.Methods:1.A four-stepped process adapted from Brislin’s translation modelwas applied to translate and develop C-VSSS.2.Taking572convalescent inpatients from mental disorders of three hospitals in Changsha. Critical ratio and correlation coefficient were used to delete or retain an item; The validity analysis included content validity, construct validity and criterion-related validity;The reliability analysis included Cronbach’s α coefficient, split-half reliability, and test-retest reliability.3.To describe the satisfaction situation of mental disorder inpatients in Changsha and analy the affected factors.Results:1.Through item analysis, a35-item Chinese version of VSSS was developed.2.Validity verification:①the content validity: C-VSSS content validity index is0.932.②the contract validity:Five common factors of C-VSSS, which are named professional technique and behavior, professional service efficiency, intervention, right to know and overall satisfaction. explaining69.972%of total variance, the minimum load of entry in the corresponding factor with0.477.③Criterion-related validity:the pearson correlation coefficient between the C-VSSS and IPSQ scores was0.743(P<0.01).3.Reliability verification:①The Cronbach’s α coefficients:C-VSSS total score Cronbach’s α coefficient is0.945(p<0.01), the dimension of Cronbach’s a coefficient from0.830to0.942(P<0.01).②The split-half reliability coeffient for the C-VSSS dimensions ranged from0.843to0.953(P<0.01), and0.938(P<0.01) for the total scale.③The test-retest reliability:The test-retest reliability coefficients for the C-VSSS dimensions ranged from0.779to0.895(P<0.01), and0.821(P<0.01)for the total scale.4.Satisfaction of inpatients with mental disorders in Changsha was165.16±21.496. Multivariate analysis of variance showed that the satisfaction of mental disorders inpatient in Changsha was affected by age, marital status, payment method, family income, and the explained variance was0.409.Conclusion:1.The study finished the work of translation and modification of VSSS, and preliminary developed the Chinese version of the VSSS.2. The C-VSSS has good reliability and validity.3.Satisfaction of mental disorder inpatients in Changsha was in the medium level, affecting by age, marital status, payment, family economic condition.
