Clinical Randomized Controlled Trail Of ST25Matching BL25and ST25Matching ST37Treated With Electro-acupuncture On Chronic Functional Constipation (Hot Type Constipation)

Purpose:Evaluate the differences and safety on the trail of ST25matching BL25and ST25matching ST37treated with Electro-acupuncture on chronic functional constipation (Hot Type Constipation), in order to provide clinical basis for optimizing a better treatment.Methods:72patients were randomly divided into a treatment group(He points matching Mu points) and a control group(Shu points matching Mu points),each of the group contained36patients. The treatment group chose ST25and BL25, the control group chose ST25and ST37.Both of them treated with electro-acupuncture on ST25after acupuncture treatment.5times each week, totally4weeks. Recorded stool frequency of a week, scores of constipation symptoms and assessed the differences between2groups. Evaluating the long-term curative effect by following up after4th and12th weeks after trail.Result:1. Two groups based on gender, age, course of disease and state of constipation(including stool frequency of a week, scores of constipation symptoms and extent of constipation) had no statistically significant differences (P>0.05), with comparability.2.Two groups each based on stool frequency of a week, scores of constipation symptoms before and after had significant differences compared with their own(P<0.01).3. Two groups based on stool frequency of a week, scores of constipation symptoms had no statistically significant differences (P>0.05) after4week-treatment.4. Two groups had significant differences in excrement quality, defecating time and stool frequency by following up4th and12th weeks after trail(P<0.05), while other types of records had no significant differences(P>0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupuncture treated on both He points matching Mu points and Shu points matching Mu points method had curative effects on chronic constipation (hot type constipation).2. Acupuncture treated on He points matching Mu points was better than Shu points matching Mu points on long-term curative effect, especially on aspects of excrement quality, defecating time and stool frequency.3.Both of the two methods had a safe curative effect and good compliance in patients.
