| Objective: To compare the safety and efficacy of domestic EXCEL biodegradable polymer sirolimus-eluting stent and FRIEBIRD2durablepolymer sirolimus-eluting stent in the treatment for ACS.Methods: This is a retrospective case-control study in a single center. Acohort of184patients with ACS treated with EXCEL stent and a subset of156ACS patients treated with FRIEBIRD2stent in The First AffiliatedHospital of Dalian Medical University between January2011to March2012were followed up. Clinical follow-up was performed by office visit ortelephone contact for1year after the index procedure. During thefollow-up, the frequency of MACE, angina pectoris reoccurrence, stentthrombosis and medicine therapy were compared between two groups. TheMACE included cardiac death, nonfatal myocardial infarction or targetlesion revascularization (TLR).Results: Two groups were similar in main baseline clinical data andmajor angiography characteristics. The procedural success rate was99.6%in EXCEL group and99.4%in FRIEBIRD2group, respectively(P>0.05).311of the patients were followed-up, mean rate of follow-up was91.5%,and there were no significant difference in2groups (92.4vs90.4%,P>0.05).Frequency of cardiac death (0vs0) and stent thrombosis (0.6%vs0.7%) were similar for both stent types in1month. Frequency of anginapectoris reoccurrence (7.1%vs10%),cardiac death(0vs0),nonfatalmyocardial infarction(1.2%vs2.1%),resteniosis(2.4%vs3.5%)TLR(1.2%vs1.4%),MACE(2.9%vs4.3%),MACE free survival were similar inEXCEL and FRIEBIRD2group in1year. The incidence of MACE at one-year follow-up was2.9%in EXCEL group and4.3%in FRIEBIRD2group(P>0.05).Stent thrombosis occurred in2patient (0.6%) inEXCEL group and in1patient(0.7%) in FRIEBIRD2group, withoutsignificant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion: Implantation of the EXCEL stent in patients with ACS issafe and effective, with no difference compared with that of the FRIEBIRD2stent. Durable sirolimus-eluting stents were associated with slightlyincreased MACE trend than Biodegradable sirolimus-eluting stents withoutstatistical significance. |
