Effects Of Evodia Extract On Energy Metabolism And Mechanistic Investigation In Virtual Cold Syndrome Rats

Objective: Explore the effect of evodia extract on virtual cold syndrome rats’ energymetabolism, based on the investigation in virtual cold syndrome rats’ energy metabolism.Through analyse the tendency and speciality of these effects, prove the existence of coldand heat material, in order to provide a useful guidance for clinical medicine.Methods: The virtual cold syndrome Wistar rats who eaten the traditional Chinesemedicine for14days, were treated by gavaging the hot component, the cold component ofevodia extract and the evodia water extract for7days, then observed the temperature of theWistar rats. Collected the food, water, urine and dung of rats in metabolic cage for24hours.The EI, DE, FE and ME were detected by Oxygen Heat Calculation. T₃, T₄, TSH, TRH inblood plasma were analyzed by using Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The content oflactic acid, pyruvic acid, triglyceride, glycogen were analyzed by using Chemicalcolorimetric spectrophotometer. The liveness of hepatic ATPase, LDH and SDH in liverwere analyzed by using measuring kit respectively.Results: After the treatment with evodia extract, virtual cold syndrome Wistar rats’temperature, FE/BM increased. The activities of hepatic ATPase, LDH and SDH wereimproved. The content of pyruvic acid, T₃, T₄, TSH, TRH were improved also, but thecontent of glycogen in liver and lactic acid were decreased. The treatment effect by hotcomponent is proved to be the best through partial least square method analysis. Theresults agree with the HPLC-DAD fingerprint technology analysis.Conclusions: Feeding the Wistar rats with traditional Chinese medicine can success-fully copy the model of virtual cold syndrome type. Evodia extract can enhance energyetabolism of virtual cold syndrome rats and improve the rats deficiency-cold state.It was corroborated the existence of Evodia property’s characteristics material, by detecting theindexes of physiological and biochemical. It expounds the relationship between theproperty and matter scientifically, and it opens up a new way for the study of the propertytheory of traditional Chinese Medicine.
