Cerebral Palsy is regarded as a disabled disease that seriously harm tothe mental and physical health of children, and the serious complicationand the bad prognosis will bring seriously psychological burden to thechildren. According to foreign literature, more than40%of CP childrenhave obviously psychological and behavioral problems which Seriouslyaffect the treatment of disease and their life quality. Currently, ourattention to the behavioral problems of CP children is still low and relatedstudies are few.Group Sand play is a special kind of Sand play.During the groupsand play,visitors could based on the group context and “free andprotected space to create a sand work together.At last, visitors relievestress through group dynamics and promote individual self-explorationand the solution of their own problems.In our study, we choose2-11year-old CP children as the researchobjects, By Survey the characteristics of CP children’s behavioralproblems and influencing factors,and then explore the effection of groupsand play therapy in the treatment of CP children with behavior problems. 【objective】1.To Survey the behavioral characteristics of CP children and analysis itsinfluencing factors.2.To explore the specific methods of groups Sand play therapy in CPchildren with behavioral problems3.To Summarize and evaluate the effection of group sand play therapy inthe treatment of CP children with behavior problems.【Method】1. Document IndexingInquire the foreign and domestic periodicals in the database ofCNKI,VIP,wanfang, ovid、Pubmed and so on to acquaint the foreign anddomestic status of on psychological rehabilitation of children with cerebralpalsy.At the same time,learn the theories of group sand play therapy.2. Questionnaire MethodWe use the basic information questionnaire to survey the gender, age,insurance or not, the place of residence, education level of parents orlong-term care, parenting attitude of children with cerebral palsy.UsingAchenbach Child Behavior Rating Scale (CBCL) survey and assess thecharacteristics of behavioral problems of children with cerebral palsy andthe influencing factors of the behavioral problems.3. The process of evaluation methodReference to the basis of previous studies, we design and use group Sand play process recording table to record the specific performance ofeach team in each group Sand play therapy process, which aimed atdynamic observing the changes of t the behavior of children with cerebralpalsy.4. ExperimentationThis study use the experimental design of the contrast between theexperimental group and the control group,and their self-control Before andafter intervention. Group Sand play therapy is introduced into theconventional rehabilitation treatment and care of children with cerebralpalsy.After the intervention,we use the CBCL and process scales record toevaluate and compare the changes of behavioral problems between twogroups.【Result】1. In this study,we found191cases which with abnormal behavioralproblems from322cases.The detection rate of abnormal behavioralproblems is59.32%, which significantly higher than the national norm (x~2=581.314, P <0.01).2.The detection rate of2~3years-old,4~5years-old and6~11years-oldgroup were45.65%,71.81%, and66.22%. In the three ages,the highestdetection rate is4~5years-old group(x~2=19.261, P <0.01).3.Top three leading behavioral problems of2~3years old werewithdrawal,depression,destructive.For4~5years were withdrawal, immature, depression, and those of female children were withdrawal,depression, schizoid/aggressive. Male children at6~11years werewithdrawal/hyperactivity, contact undesirable,compulsive;those of femalechildren were depression, withdrawal/contact undesirable, compulsive.4.Multiple regression analysis showed that family income, parent’snegative mood, length of hospitalization, parenting style, age and socialactivities were influencing factors.5.After10times intervention, the social withdrawal, aggressivebehavior, destructive behavior, hyperactivity, physical complaints,immature behavior, discipline behavior scores in the experimental groupwere respectivly lower than that before treatment and the othergroup(P<0.05).While the control group, only the somatic complaintsscore is lower than before (p <0.05).6.The process of evaluation recording analysis showed that thechanges of the behavior of children with cerebral palsy in stages,especially in interpersonal relationships.【Conclusions】1.Children with cerebral palsy have seriously behavioral problems,the main behavior problems were:social withdrawal, depression,immaturity, schizoid and obsessive-compulsive.2.Group sand play therapy could effectively solve the behavioralproblems and promote the mental health of children with cerebral palsy.
