The plant Swertia bimaculata belongs to Swertia genera of Gentianaceae family.Thexanthones,flavonoids,triterpenoids and iridoids are rich in Swertia genera which arereported to possess liver protection activity,anti-oxidation and lowing blood sugaractivities.The distribution of Swertia bimaculata in china is various and the herb has beenwidely used as a folk remedy of hepatitis.But the phytochemical investigation about theplant has been reported very little in literature.To make full use of the medicinal plant,wefocus on studying the constituents of Swertia bimaculata.Twenty-four compounds were isolated from the n-Butanol extracts of Swertiabimaculata and identified on the basis of spectroscopic methods,including three newcompounds,(1-O-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-1,8-dihydroxy-2,3,4,5-tetramethoxyxanthone)(1),(8-O-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-1,8-dihydroxy-2,3,4,5-tetramethoxyxanthone)(2) and(1-O-[β-D-xylopyranosyl(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-1,3,8-trihydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyxanthone)(3).And the twenty-oneknown compounds included five xanthone glycosides,three flavonoid glycosides,eightxanthones and five flavonoids.These known compounds were elucidated as3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-1,3-dihydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyxanthon(e4),3-O-β-D-glucopyrano-yl-1,3,8-trihydroxy-5-methoxyxanthone(5),8-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-1,5,8-trihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone(6),1-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-1,3,8-trihydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyxanthone(7),Kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside(8),Quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucoside(9),7-O-[-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-xylopyranosyl]-1,7,8-trihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone(10),kaempferol-3-O-β-D-(6″-O--L-rhamnopyranosyl)glucopyranosid(11),1,3,5-trihydroxyxanthone(12),1,5-dihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone(13),1,3,7-trihydroxy-4-methoxy-xanthone(14),1,7-dihydroxy-3,4-dimethoxyxanthone(15),1,3,5-trihydroxy-4-methoxyxanthone(16),1,3,8-trihydroxy-5-methoxyxanthon(17),1,3,5,8-tretrahydroxy-xanthone(18),1,3,8-trihydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyxanthone(19),quercetin(20),kaempferol(21),luteolin(22),5,7,4′-trihydroxy-8-methoxyflavone(23),5,7,3′,4′-tetra- hydroxy-8-methoxyflavone(24). |
