Objective: To explore minimal surgical treatment of avulsion fracture ofintercondylar spine of tibia under arthroscope, and to study itr correspondingtherapeutic effects. Methods: From2009, Jan to2010, Dec,24skeletally immature patient (16boys and8girls,8~14years old) in our hospital. With theaisistance of thearthroscope, thereduction and PSD-II suture fixation of anterior cruciate ligament or the avulsionfracture were performed, taking the advantage of ACL-aimer, bone tunnels, throughwhich the suture can be pulled out and tied outside the joint, could be accuratelyproduced.Results24patients were able for6~30months follow-up. All patient gained normalrange of motion, X ray demonstrated bone union in all the cases. At the end of thefollow-up, all the patients got good ROM (range of movement), withoutcomplications such as joint stiffness, joint relaxation, epiphyseal injuries, malformations dysfunction, and so on. The Lysholm score is about (94.5±4.1), andthe IKDC2000score is about(92.8±3.7).There are significant differences betweenpostoperative and preoperative scores.(P=0.000)。Conclusion: Arthroscopically operation of reduction for the fractures of thepediatrictibialintercondylar eminence fracture, assisted with absorbable PSD-II suturefixation, gives less trauma to avoid the complicationscaudsed by the injury of t heepiphyseal plate, makes the patients recover quickly, and have the advantagesofaverting the secondary surgery to take out the internal fixation; And the internalfixation using PSD-II suture for the tibialintercondylar eminence fracture is relativelystable and allows the earlier functional exercise of knee joint, especially for the kneejoint practiceof the flexion and extension, which will be able to prevent ankylosis. Therefor, arthroscopic treatment of tibialintercondylar eminence avulsionfractures of children using PDS-II suture limited internal fixationis a goodmethodworthy of popularization and application...
