| Purpose (1) To study the expressions of phosphatase of regenerating liver-2(PRL-2)and regenerating liver-3(PRL-3) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and theirexpression patterns;(2) to detect microvessel density (MVD) in NSCLC;(3) to analyzethe correlations of the expressions of PRL-2, PRL-3and MVD in NSCLC, toinvestigate the relationship of the expressions with tumor angiogenesis. Methods The method of immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used to detect theexpressions of PRL-2, PRL-3and MVD in40cases NSCLC tissues and40casesnormal adjacent tissues, and analysis the differences of expressions between differentclinical and pathological parameters, and analysis the relationships of PRL-2, PRL-3and tumor angiogenesis by calculating MVD from the expression of CD34.Results (1) The positive expression rates of PRL-2and PRL-3were65%and70%intumor tissues, It has no relationship with the age, sex, smoking history of patients andsize, pathologic type of tumors (P>0.05), which were closely correlated with degree ofdifferentiation, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage of tumors (P<0.05), we did notfind the positive expressions in adjacent normal tissues;(2) the MVD values in40NSCLC tissues were40.47±12.41, which were significantly higher than normaltissues, that were correlated with lymph node metastasis and TNM stage of tumors(P<0.05);(3) the MVD values of the cases of positive expression of PRL-2wereobviously higher than the control group(P<0.01), spearman correlation analysis showed that the expressions of PRL-2and PRL-3and MVD values had highly positivecorrelations in NSCLC (P<0.01);(4) It is showed that the cases of positiveexpressions of PRL-2and PRL-3and the cases whose MVD values were greaterthan the average values in the group of disease progression who were associatedwith regional lymph node metastasis or distant metastasis1year after operations werehigher than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with normal lung tissues, PRL-2, PRL-3were highlyexpressed in NSCLC tissues, that were correlated with the differentiation, lymph nodemetastasis, TNM stage and MVD, it may promote the formation, proliferation andinvasion of lung malignant tumor through tumor neovascularity when PRL-2and PRL-3were high-expressed, that provided a theoretical basis for clinical diagnosis andtreatment, and we presumed that the positive expressions of the PRL-2, PRL-3and theincreases of MVD values could be a potential index as the judgment of the NSCLCpatients with poor prognosis. |
