Objective With the implementation of the new health care reform, there are someproblems in the course of operation of the primary health care institutions, whichclosely related to the grass-roots’ health career. If we do not pay attention to theproblems in the development process of the township hospitals, it will directly affectthe pattern of the overall harmonious development of medical and health services inthe new situation. The purpose of this study is to survey of part of the townshiphospitals in Anhui Province, analysis of the current status quo of township hospitals inthe new rural cooperative context and investigate the problem exists for which thecorresponding countermeasure.Method Randomly selected16counties in Anhui Province, using stratified randomsampling method, extraction of40township hospitals. Taking the form ofself-administered questionnaire to investigate relevant personnel. The main survey thebasic condition of the township hospitals, health human resources, technical level.The supply of health services and basic inspection equipment ownership.Results (1)The development of township hospitals is uneven and has bigdifference;(2)The hospitals physicians of per thousand agricultural population isinadequate and the medical services supply capacity is differences;(3) Health careimbalance, low-titles and low educated ones, on-the-job staff training programs toofew learning opportunities;(4)Pharmaceutical revenue to total revenue is still too large;(5)The lack of medical equipment, quality is not high, backward technology, outdatedfacilities. Means of medical and laboratory examinations is short. Medical technologyand the low level of technology. Conclusion Township hospitals should increase government financial investment, theestablishment of a multi-channel fund-raising mechanism, strengthening grass-rootshealth personnel training, upgrading of medical equipment and technology, so as toimprove the status of township hospitals.
