With the development of network technology and rapid increasing information onInternet, information retrieval system plays a key component for user to accuratelysearch information on internet. However, the traditional information retrieval is onlybased grammar match and full-text search technology so that the user’s query result islarge and un-targeted. It’s difficult to get truly relevant information. The essentialsolution to solve this problem lies in the information retrieval from the traditionalgrammar-based level upgraded to knowledge-based semantic level and truly improvethe query accuracy, recall, and so on.This paper thoroughly discusses some issues related to medical ontology-basedsemantic retrieval system, such as ontology construction, semantic reasoning, semanticannotation and semantic retrieval. The main contents of this paper include the followingfour parts:This paper analyzed the domestic and foreign existing information retrieval systemand summarized the shortcomings and problems of the existing information retrievaltechnology. After that, we got that the main reason of the low quality of these retrievalfundamentally lie in the traditional information retrieval based on the matching syntaxlack of a unified semantic description and semantics of information retrievalThen this paper focuses on the analysis of the Semantic Web and ontologytechnology, such as definition, frame structure, Research and Applications.After that, this paper focuses on the analysis of the key technologies of medicalontology-based semantic retrieval,such as ontology construction technology, semanticreasoning technology, semantic annotation technology and so on. On the basis of thesetechnologies, this paper proposed a design of the medical ontology-based semantic Webretrieval system. With the help of this design, we build the rheumatic ontology,semantically expand the ontology by SWRL rule language and formulate the markeddocuments with the JAPE rule to contact ontology and the retrieval target.At last, medical ontology-based semantic retrieval system was developed based onthe technology theory and system design in previous sections. With the help of semantic extension and semantic annotation, this retrieval system could deep mining all kinds ofinformation related to the search keyword offered by the user so that the user could getmore accurate and comprehensive result about rheumatic medical information.This paper researches on semantic search strategies and methods based on ontology,and basically finds a feasible way to implement semantic search. The research indicatessome valuable academic and applied importance.
