| Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of serum Cystatin C(Cys-C)in earlyrenal impairment of essential hypertension. Methods:From October2011to September2012, two hundred and thirteen essential hypertensive patients at the average age of(51.2±12.7) from the hypertension department of the First Affiliated Hospital of XinjiangMedical University were enrolled. According to the GFR levels, they were divided intothree groups: renal moderate and severe impairment group (GFR≤60mL/min), renal mildimpairment group(60<GFR<90mL/min),and normal renal functiongroup(GFR≥90mL/min). The correlation of Cys-C and GFR was analysed and the bestcut-off value of Cys-C in diagnosing early renal impairment of primary hypertensivepatients was calculated using ROC curve. Results:Creatinine and Cys-C in renalmoderate and severe impairment group were statistically higher than those in renal mildimpairment group and normal renal function group,Cys-C in renal mild impairmentgroup was statistically higher than those in normal renal function group,(all P<0.05).GFR was negatively correlated with Cys-C(r=-0.320,P<0.01). According to the ROCcurve, the best cut-off value of Cys-C was0.86mg/L in diagnosing early renal impairmentin primary hypertensive patients, with a sensitivity of62%and a specificity of60%, andthe area under ROC curve(95%CI) was0.643(0.558-0.722). Conclusion:Cys-C is oneof the important diagnostic indices for early renal impairment of essential hypertensivepatients. |
