Objective: Through periodontal examination, and then periodontal treatment orsurgical treatment after the initial periodontal therapy, according to the restorationsituation of teeth and the situation of the adjacent teeth, design the fixation approach forloose teeth,finally evalue fixation methods and observed the clinical effect on looseteeth fixation.Methods:10clinical cases were collected. Inclusive criteria:(1) Patients havemoderate or severe periodontitis without surgical contraindication;(2) Patientsvoluntarily accept restorative treatment. Exclusive criteria:(1) Patients have no surgicalcontraindication;(3) Progressive periodontitis or periodontal disease which is not undercontrol;(4)The teeth could not be done with perfect root canal treatment;(5) Patients donot accept fixation for loose teeth.1.Took X-ray film to judge the degree of periodontal disease.2.Did root canal treatment for the teeth which dental pulp could not be retained.3.Basic treatment: performed oral hygiene instruction to patients, according to thesituation of the teeth, treated with supragingival scaling, subgingival scaling, local drugs.After6to8weeks, fixed the involved teeth.4.Following the basic treatment, if the depth of periodontal pocket was more than5mm, or the teeth was in grade2to3root furcation lesions or was in need of bone graftor GTR, periodontal surgery therapy was needed., then the fixed teeth after2-3months.5.According to the economic conditions and specific conditions of the patients,chose resin combined with square wire scaffold periodontal splint, fixed permanentperiodontal splints, or fixed removable periodontal splint (mainly for telescopicdenture)respectively for further treatment.Results: Clinical criteria: evaluated from three aspects: function, comfort, andappearance. The10patients with different fixation treatment were satisfied. And thefeedback in the return visit after1year: the patients of nine cases were very satisfied with good chewing function, no discomfort, comfort and beautify. Only the patient inone case had mild gingivitis, while recovered after supragingival plaque scaling, andagain was emphasized the oral hygiene instruction.Conclusions: In this paper,10cases of periodontal disease took differentapproaches to fix loose teeth, the results showed that fixation treatment for the looseteeth, improved masticatory function significantly, played a positive role in theprognosis of periodontal disease, and had good clinical efficacy.
