Preliminary Study Of An Automatic Detection Capsule Of Gastric Occult Blood

As is known to all, the morbidity and mortality of gastric cancer are very high, butthe mortality rate can be effectively controlled if early diagnosis or timely treatment.Stomach belongs to hollow organs, while the mucosa is easy to damaged by early tumorcell of hollow organs, then there is a very small amount of bleeding which is calledoccult blood that can’t be seen by eyes. Research indicated that occult blood detectioncould lower the mortality of gastrointestinal tract malignant tumors, therefore, thegastric occult blood screening can be used to detect early gastric cancer. Existing gastricoccult blood test methods mainly include fecal occult blood test, gastric juice detectionand occult blood bead screening method which still exist many problems such ascomplicate operation and poor specificity.Under this background, an automatic detection capsule system of gastric occultblood which based on capsule endoscopy and occult blood detection theory is proposedhere. This system utilized the non-invasive deglutible capsule to automatically identifythe gastric occult blood information, transmitted the detection result to the externaldevice which could display the detection result and identify the occult status.The main research contents of this paper are summarized as follows:1Refer to the research progress of gastric occult blood detection of domestic andoverseas through literature and patent retrieval. Analyzed the significance of occultblood detection for screening early gastric cancer；introduced the anatomical structureof human stomach; compared the existing gastric occult blood detection methods andtheir advantages and disadvantages.2An automatic detection capsule system which based on capsule endoscopy andoccult blood detection theory is proposed, the difficulties and the key points ofsystematic design was analyzed. A variety of projects were designed for each module ofthe system, and the best solution was selected through a comprehensive analysis. On thebasis of this, the patent was wrote.3An occult blood detection sensor with unique structure was developed accordingto the human gastric environment, and the occult blood test module which madethrough collaurum immune theory can detection human hemoglobin specificity andavoid the interference of animal blood effectively. Besides, the image acquisitionmodule was developed based on OV6922image sensor, and realized the image acquisition.4We did in vitro experiments of gastric occult blood sensor with human gastricjuice, experimental results indicated that the effective detection concentration range ofthe occult blood sensor was6~1800μg/ml and the image of the testing results wasacquired. The experiments verified the feasibility and reliability of the occult blooddetection sensor.In addition, both the wireless transmission module and the external portablereceiving and display device were studied.Non-invasive detection is significance for the development of medical examination.The automatic detection capsule system of gastric occult blood designed in this paper issimple, which could detect gastric occult blood non-invasive, fast and reliable.Furthermore, it also has very high practical value. In general, this system provides anew method for the screening of early-stage gastric cancer.
