A Logistic Regression Analysis Of Risk Factors For Ischemic Colitis

ObjectiveTo investigate the risk factors of ischemic colitis, and make useful exploration for the prevention and treatment of ischemic colitis.MethodsIn January2008-August2012,108patients with the diagnosed ischemic colitis in Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital affiliated to the Medical College of Jinan University were analyzed retrospectively with multivariate unconditioned logistic regression analysis and other statistical methods, in order to find risk factors associated with ischemic colitis.Result1.Ischemic colitis lacked of characteristic clinical manifestations, and the main clinical symptoms were abdominal pain, diarrhea, hematochezia, which were mainly seen in left colon.Ischemic colitis occured mostly in patients older than50years old. The morbidity of ischemic colitis of female is higher than that of male. Laboratory tests showed that white blood cells, neutrophils, D-dimer, cholesterol and triglyceride were higher than normal.16patients underwent abdominal CT examination.7of these16patients were found with colon broad hyperemia, edema, including4patients with colon bowel wall thickening.16patients underwent digital subtraction angiography examination. Among these16patients,3patients were found with colon intestinal wall vascular congestion,3cases with mesenteric artery stenosis,1patient with ascending colon aneurysms.108patients got colonoscopies examination. The colonoscopic results showed that colonic mucosa has different degree of congestion, edema, erosion, and ulcer.2.Multivariate unconditioned logistic regression analysis showed thathyperlipidemia OR=2.559,95%CI=1.275-5.139;coronary heart disease OR=2.926,95%CI=1.097-7.799; Nsaid drugs OR=3.653,95%CI=1.180-11.306;intestinal obstruction OR=5.742,95%CI=1.688-19.518; diarrhea OR=4.332,95%CI=1.738-10.794.Coronary heart disease, diarrhea, hyperlipidemia, intestinal obstruction, NSAID drug history were risk factors of the onset of ischemic colitis.Conclusion1.Ischemic colitis lacked of characteristic clinical manifestations.2.The research showed that:coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, intestinal obstruction, diarrhea, NSAID drugs were risk factors of the onset of ischemic colitis.
