The rhizome is the main medicinal organ of Sophora tonkinensis Gapnep.whose main medicinal active components are matrine and oxymatrine. The components of matrine and oxymatrine have many pharmacological effects, such as anti-cancer, anti-tumor. The growth and physiological metabolism of plant are not only controlled by its genetic genes, but also are affected by the factors of ecological environment. Light is a very important factor of ecological environment to the growth and physiological metabolism of plant. Aimed at exploring the mechanism on the accumulation of matrine and oxymatrine of S. tonkinensis under the control of different light qualities and provide theoretical bases for improving its yield and quality, the growth indexes, the physiological and biochemical indexes and the contents of matrine and oxymatrine of potted seedings which were treated under3different kinds of LEDs were determined. The results were as follows:(1) Among3kinds of LEDs, red light were contribution to the elongation growth of root and stem and the accumulation of biomass of S. tonkinensis seedlings, and blue light were contribution to the division of its root, but white light was the most unfavorable to the growth of its root. (2) Among3kinds of LEDs, red light were contribution to the accumulation of soluble sugar of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings, and blue light were contribution to the syntheses of free amino acids and soluble proteins. The contents of soluble sugar of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under red light and blue light after30d,60d,90d were respectively1.07,1.45,1.72times and0.86,0.80,1.07times as white light. The contents of free amino acids of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under red light and blue light after30d,60d,90d were respectively1.13,0.94,2.38times and3.07,1.46,4.69times as white light. The contents of soluble proteins of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under red light and blue light after30d,60d,90d were respectively1.17,1.16,1.06times and1.18,1.53,1.24times as white light.(3) Among3kinds of LEDs, red light were contribution to the activity of GOT, and blue light were contribution to the activity of GPT and PAL.The activity of GOT of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under red light and blue light after30d,60d,90d were respectively1.25,1.35,1.00times and1.17,1.13,0.75times as white light. The activity of GPT of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under red light and blue light after60d,90d were respectively11.09,0.63times and3.00,1.55times as white light. The values of PAL activity of leaves of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under red light and blue light after30d,60d,90d were respectively1.17,7.50,0.66times and3.79,29,63,15.22times as white light.(4) The growth indexes of plant height, stem diameter, biomass and total length, surface area, volume, tips, forks of root of S. tonkinensis seedlings were treated under3different kinds of LEDs reduced obviously by contrast with the natraral light, but the total content of matrine and oxymatrine of root of S. tonkinensis seedlings treated under the blue light after60d,90d were respectively improved3.79percents,16.98percents by contrast with the natraral light.(5) The content of matrine of root of S. tonkinensis seedlings were significantly negative correlated with average diam of root and were very significantly positive correlated with the content of soluble protein and the activity of GOT of leaves, and the content of oxymatrine in root of S. tonkinensis seedlings were very significantly positive correlated with the activity of GPT of leaves.(6) Blue light improved the content of oxymatrine of root of S. tonkinensis seedlings via improving its activity of PAL.
