The power density of the traditional motors is limited by the coupling magnet electric effect of teeth and slots, it is difficult to meet the high power density motors. With the development of automotive technology, structural changes, increasing electrical equipment, improve vehicle performance and automotive electrical systems combined with power electronics technology, automotive generators in the structure, performance and capacity has undergone great changes, the demand of the power density, reliability, electrical performance, installation dimensions of modern cars have become increasingly.In additional, people are concerned about the performance of the car more and more, especially for car comfort, safety, fuel economy and environmental protection have become increasingly demanding. Meanwhile, more and more devices on the car, the rapid growth of automobile consumption, while the increase in the automotive equipment, automotive generators have become smaller and smaller space.The permanent magnet Claw-pole Machine with outer rotor (PMCPM) is concerned intensively, due to its high power density, simple structure, low manufacturing cost and so on. The permanent magnet Claw-pole Machine with outer rotor has novel structure, it is lack of relevant research at present in China, there exist some problems to be solved. The research of this paper is carried out around the analysis and design method of PMCPM generator and measurements of the sample generator, four parts are included as following:First of all, the article, many interrelated reference both in China and abroad has sought, what’s more the basic operation principle and structure are introduced, based on basic electromagnetic relationship and the main magnetic flux and leakage flux distribution rule of PMCPM, its magnetic equivalent circuit model and circuit model is built.Secondly, the existing literature is noted that the claw-pole is extremely hard to be made from silicon steel and it must be used soft magnetic complex. However, the research group has discovered the method of using the silicon steel to make claw pole over a long period of exploration, and breaking the difficulties of this process.Then, the model of the sample generator is set up in use of Ansoft-14and its magnetic field is analyzed with3D finite element method. On the basic of the analytical results, the static and transient magnetic field of PMCPM is investigated. Some parameters of PMCPM are obtained, including the back electromotive force and the gap flux density waveform and so on. According to the equivalent simplified conditions, based on the finite element analysis software in a simplified motor2D model to analyze the optimal size of the motor cogging torque of the motor, and got the advantage of changing the pole arc coefficient, as well as change the width of the stator pole claw claw pole wide ranging, three different ways to reduce the cogging torque, and the establishment of a3D model of the motor based on this, the cogging torque of the motor to be analyzed.Finally, the prototype of PMCPM is designed and manufactured. The whole performance test of this prototype is completed. Correctness and feasibility of design and analysis method mentioned are verified through the comparison of experiment result and theory analysis, foundation of theory and technology is laid on further research on this kind of machine.
