In recent years, the packaging varieties increases tremendously, but most of the packaging in the current market are based on the complex paper structures, which could be hardly recycled after the first using. The cloth materials are environmentally friendly for the packaging, and have a long history in China and can be used widely. But in contrast to the paper based packaging, the research results and applications of the cloth based packaging is far cry. This design will highlight the combination of the neglected cloth material and the modern packaging, the biggest advantage of this design is maximizing the cloth materials’ merits such as environmentally friendly and can be used for many times.The gift packaging design is unlike the normal packaging design, gift is an important medium for emotional contacts between the peoples, also is an important form of peoples’ emotional expressions, so "ceremony","emotion", and "meaning" are particularly important to the gift packaging. This paper use the wrapping culture in combination with the gift packaging, through the "emotion","meaning" in the wrapping culture to convey the "ceremony" and the peculiarity of the gift packaging.This graduation design depends on the wrapping forms of the packaging and attempts to do the works as follows:Firstly, taking the overall application of Tibetan Buddhism’s gift packaging as an example, achieving the combination of brand culture and wrapping form, and basing on one of its brands names Lotus to redefine the its whole brands, from the logo to product packaging, brand image, and many other visual images and the cloth culture is fully blend into its core brand. Secondly, taking Taiwan’s Far East shopping mall for example, through the combination of packaged gifts and wrapping packaging in the characteristic holiday culture which is released in the Christmas celebrations, manifesting the wrapping packing’s unique language with the consistency of modern propaganda.This paper starts with the basic definition of packaging design, discusses the relationship between the ancient and the modern, wrapping form, package design and brand effect, summarized several wrapping packaging forms for the different functional and decorative demands; from the discussion of environmentally friendly, reutilization, cultural inheritance, and other aspects to indicate that the wrapping culture of the packaging has a great significance and cultural value of the times; then classifies and induces the expression forms and design methods of the wrapping through the specific cases; Finally, by means of these design methods, to guide the practices of the graduate design.
