The structure of ship power system become more and more complicated with constantlydevelopment of the modern ship technology, Especially, after the idea of integrated powersystem was put forward, the probability of various fault will be greatly increase because moreelectronic devices and high power electric equipment appeared in the modern ship, which canserious influence the stability of the ship power system, so the higher requirements are putforward for the stability of modern ship power system, Especially, the requirements is morehigher in the regulator voltage and speed dynamic performance indicators. In order toimprove the stability of the ship power system, countries in the world have invested a lot ofmanpower and material resources to in-depth study stability of the ship power system. In thispaper, a ship power system model is built and we conduct some corresponding dynamicsimulation for different faults and conditions.Firstly, this paper studies the composition and characteristics of modern ship powersystem and on this basis the ship power system is divided into some subsystem by themodular thinking, this mind simplify and determine the parts of the system need to bemodeled, such as diesel engine and speed control system, frequency converter and vectorcontrol, synchronous generator and excitation system, synchronous motor and load, weestablished detailed mathematical model for these parts, and then we using thePSCAD/EMTDC simulation software to build the simulation model of every parts based onthe mathematical model. We can get a complete ship power system simulation model byconnecting various part simulation models.For the establishment of ship power system simulation model, firstly, it has beensimulated the simulation experiment of typical conditions, analyzed the dynamic changes insudden motor load and motor unload, and verified the effectiveness of the establishment ofthe ship power system. Secondly, the reason of the short circuit fault has been analyzed to theeffect of the ship power system. Then, on the basis of the establishment of the ship powersystem, the typical fault simulation has been done, such as the short circuit fault of one-phaseground, the short circuit fault of two-phase ground and three-phase short circuit fault. It hasbeen analyzed and researched that the dynamic process of the ship power system in variety ofshort circuit faults. In addition, lose of excitation phenomenon of ship generator has beenanalyzed and lose of excitation fault simulation experiment has been done in the ship powersystem model. And the dynamic changing process of lose of excitation has been researched.Through the analysis and research of the dynamic changes of the ship power system model in various conditions and faults, the simulation results show that the system model can quicklymake accurate reaction and have a good regulator voltage and speed ability.In this paper, some parts of the ship power system simulation model are simplified, butthe simulation results show that the dynamic process of various faults and conditions islargely similar with the actual process, so this system can be used to simulate the processwhen the actual ship power system under various faults and conditions, simulation data hascertain reference value for ensuring the ship power system under stable operation state andimproving the stability of the ship power system...
