The building energy consumption of Guangzhou is increasing with the economydevelopment year by year, in which rural construction energy consumption growsrapidly. Along with the accelerating of new rural construction and the improvement ofpeople’s living standard, people’s living environment requirement is higher and higher,the energy consumption for creating a comfortable environment will also increaseyear by year. So when satisfy people living comfort, researching how to userenewable energy effectively in the air conditioning system in rural areas and reduceconventional energy consumption is of great significance.First in this paper, the information that the current rural residential buildingsthermal environment status is got by on-the-spot investigation, it is found thattraditional ways such as natural ventilation, electric fans to maintain indoor thermalcomfort choosing has been gradually replaced by unitary air conditioners, airconditioning has gradually become the first choice to solve the indoor thermalenvironment problem. If air conditioning is widely used in rural areas, it will bringgreat pressure for China’s energy supply.Second, the temperature condition of shallow groundwater in Guangzhou regionwere tested by field drilling method, and obtained the groundwater temperaturedistribution of different depth. The result shows that the temperature of shallowunderground water in Guangzhou is within the scope of21~22℃.Finally, the experiment devices of testing groundwater Evaporative cooling airconditioning performance were designed and set up, the performance experiment ofdirect cooling air conditioning with plant fiber as the filler under the summer workingcondition was carried out in enthalpy-difference room. The summer typical outdoormeteorological conditions in Guangzhou were taken as air input conditions, measuredthe state of the export air after dealing with the groundwater Evaporative cooling air conditioning packing. The influences to the export air condition were analyzed byvarying the air output and drench water. The results show that although thegroundwater temperature in Guangzhou is a little higher, the air cooling effect isobvious after dealing with the groundwater Evaporative cooling air conditioning. Themoisture content increased slightly, but it has better effect to improve the buildingthermal environment in tot-humid area. The application of the system not only canimprove the indoor thermal environment, but also has good social and economicvalue.
