Ecological framework has a leading role on urban land use and spatial layout which is urgently needed in realizing sustainable urban development strategies under conditions of urbanization. This issue takes the idea of "ecological" as a guide, using GIS and other technological means to conducting landscape pattern analysis, landscape security pattern analysis, and the ecological suitability assessment for the current situation of various ecological elements in XiaoChi town, and put forward a pilot ecological framework eventually. This issue is aiming at exploring a befitting ecological framework and providing some basic informations and theoretical guidance to develop XiaoChi town into a modernization riverside district with a good ecological framework. In the environment of sustainable development, XiaoChi Riverside District could achieve a harmonious development in ecological-economic-social. In the end, the organic ecosystem could completely play its due role in enhancing the quality of life in the city, forming a unique personality style urban ecological framework.XiaoChi Riverside District is located in the eastern end of Hubei province, which has been called "East Gate"of Hubei, its south is face with Jiujiang which belong to Jiangxi province across the Yangtze River. Since the last century early1990s, in two decades, XiaoChi has been a focus towns in nation, Hubei provincial government, which has been incorporated into national and provincial strategic pilot town, test area and other types of policy system, in a word, XiaoChi is facing unprecedented opportunities for development. Therefore there is a certain significance that chosen XiaoChi Riverside District as the research object, through the analysis of the problem which existing in XiaoChi landscape, explore a advanced ecological framework with a reasonable and scientific distribution which is suitable for XiaoChi development model. Sequentially provide a reference and basis for XiaoChi future urban construction. In this paper, XiaoChi Riverside District has been conducted a detailed survey and statistics to the basic data, especially take a more comprehensive analysis to the landscape elements in the urban. On this basis, stating XiaoChi Riverside District should rely on superi natural environment, consider the perspective of regional ecological environmental protection, combined with the river, flood control ditches, urban transportation systems to establish ecological corridors, and build urban green network pattern. On the base of the green ring network system which formed by green gallery channel, using green plaques to enrich and consummate the whole city’s ecological framework.Forming town field, and urban ecological space protection systems; protecting biological diversity and maintaining ecological balance, and come into being a complete eco-organic framework system. Finally forming a ecological space protection framework of "one axis, one network, three wedges, multi-gallery, multi-point, multi-zone.""One axis" refers to Riverside Park along the Yangtze River and other important nodes of the Riverside landscape ecological protection axes."One Network" refers to main strip drainage inside and outside of city, which the water form interconnected ecological water network."Three wedge" is mainly for the new East Port, the old East Port River ecological landscape green wedge; Marshland ecological landscape green wedge; Guan Lake Port River ecological landscape green wedge."Multi Gallery" is mainly the Jingjiu railway line, Fuyin highway,105State Road, which the roads green belt area constituted the ecological landscape corridor."Multi-point" refers to the Xiaochi Riverside District new parks, squares and other urban green landscape nodes."Multi-zone" refers to the Xiaochi Riverside District periphery with a plurality of water mosaic distribution of farmland conservation area. Forming the ecological barrier outside the city.
