With the improvment of the public attention to the meteorological information and the enhancement of meteorological observation equipment,meteorological department cumulative increasing number and variety of meteorological products. How to integrate information and be viewed by public timely is a much-needed research in the field of meteorological services. With the way of access to information is increasingly rich, at the same time, more and more users choose to view weather information from the network. Therefore,publication of meteorological information to the internet become an integral part of the meteorological services. How to display these meteorological products quickly and vividly is also need to study. In addition, current meteorological information is still lacking in human-computer interaction and reaction speed. How to solve these problems and to improve the user experience is also need to address and research.To solve the above problem, a weather information dissemination method which is based on WebGIS and Flex architecture is proposed. The method combines the good benefits of WebGIS and Flex, and the REST (Representational State Transfer) architectural style, forming a series of meteorological information processing methods which from the data processing, data shows to map query. The main work and innovations of the paper are as follows:(1) Combined with the advantages of WebGIS and Flex, and used into display of meteorological information on the Internet. Summed up a set of nnovative, efficient meteorological information dissemination methods which are applicable in the field of meteorology.(2) The method is applied in the the actual meteorological information system. Jiading meteorological disaster warning information system was designed and implemented, and have been put into use. Compared with the traditional weather information distribution system, has obvious advantages in terms of reaction speed, user interface, and user experience.(3) Research and resolve the key issues of the meteorological information integration and publication, including the obtainment and update of meteorological data, spatial expression of the meteorological data, the REST architecture WebGIS and use tiles technology to generate maps, etc.compared to traditional WebGIS, provides richer and more reusable map service, saves more server resources and is more suitable for flexible field of meteorology.
