N Corporation is international electronic manufactory supplier. Its service portfolio includes the consumer electronics area, the healthcare service, packaging and other fields. It is accounted for more than60%sales volumes and70%of the source of profits in its mainland factory that comes from the process of injection molding, spray coating, assembly and test service for BB Company. The assembly technology fraction defective of cell phone receiver process achieves over3%in the beginning of the mass production. A large number of products shall have to reload, rework, re-inspect, and scrap in process. And it has consumed the profit of product under this craft. The company realized that must reduce cost and raises the efficiency maximum limited what can deal with the dual pressures of rising production costs and customers continued price conditions.Through Lean Six Sigma approach to process and production improvement, the failure rate of audio testing is down to0.5%and meets the requirements of companies and customers. This article explores the application of Six Sigma methods of improving the first time pass rate of receive assembly. And in the lean six sigma projects, it introduced tools like automation, line balanced, visual control,5S and other methods to eliminate waste, optimize the entire production process and shortens the lead time.A cross-function team was established to determine the tasks, responsibilities, and milestone in the project. Team discussed the capability of the current process and the problems and expectations of the target. In order to ensure process effectiveness, team measure and analysis the current process capability. Based on the potential causes issued in brainstorming stage, team made the data collection plan. Then the critical factors were identified according to the data analysis and understanding by Minitab software. After that, all critical parameters of process and equipment were defined regarding to DOE study. Team members drafted PFEMA file, made control plan and conduct risk assessment for production. At the end of project, team implemented the improvement actions of production process. All related documents were updated like work instruction. Comparing with the process capability before and after actions, it was confirmed the improvement results. Financial manager also agree the benefit of the project after calculate the project saving. In order to keep the effective of improvement, the project handover to production team completely at the last.Following aspects of revenue through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma by the enterprise included reduce process variability, improve process capability and stability, and improve the stability of the product. It also reduce inventory, reduce products waiting in process and reduce costs. It shortens the production cycle, shorten production lead time. It was proofed improving facilities layout, reducing the production storage space and efficient use of resources. Lean six sigma allows us to understand and respond the customer fast, improves the customer satisfaction, and increase market share.
