Supermarkets as one of the main retail terminals, the operators are keepingenhancing the shopping experience for the customers as well as expand their business.Checkouts are the frontier for the supermarket operator to face their customers, and thewaiting in a queue has significant impact on customers satisfactory. This paperproposed a new queueing system management strategy: open special lanes for highvolume customers. Simulation method is employed to study different operationpolicies’ effect on system performance measures.Thanks to one of the big supermarket in Beijing, this paper fortunately get theiroperation data to build a simulation model, and the author thy to evaluate2394combination of different operation policies and find some optimized solutions.A resources dynamic allocation model is also established. Study is conducted ondifferent operation policies’ influence on system performance measures under someheuristic allocation rules.
