Since china implementing the enrollment policy in1999, the number of female graduate students significantly increased, and they are receiving more and more attention.As an emerging media, online media report the female graduate students more frequently and extensively.so,it has a strong practical significance to research how online media shape the image of the female graduate students and analyze the causes of this image.In this paper, content analysis and questionnaire are used as research method.News reports from January1,2007to December31,2011in Sina are selected as a sample of content analysis,which include the nature of the report,theme, report position, narrative and news sources.The study found that network news coverage of female graduate students as workplace confused,the loser of the marriage, the unfortunate victims of ignorant people who were fooled and pessimistic depression.This paper uses the questionnaire to analyze the impact of network news coverage of female graduate students,Found that there is a deviation of the network news coverage of female graduate students image and social perception of the image of female graduate students.From the perspective of feminist theory and consumer theory, The reason why online media report a lot of negative news of female graduate students and why the image of female graduate students are distorted firstly is that the media is affected by traditional gender stereotypes of men inside and women outside ","male high female"and "men stronger than women".Secondly,in context of commercialization, female graduate students’ emotiona, experience, psychology are consumed by viewers and readers.Because online media get hits and advertising through attracting and catering to the audience.
