The thesis adapts “A Countermeasure Research on the Features and Developmental of‘In-Depth Report’ in the New Culture Newspaper” as the title, and analyzes1399newspapersfrom Jan.3rd,2008to Dec.31st,2011, from which124‘In-Depth Report’ pages are countedand categorized. Intensively introduced by the New Culture Newspaper, the ‘In-Depth ReportPage’ covers In-Depth Reports from various themes, each in a half or even a whole page perissue. By the end of2011, the ‘In-Depth Report’ has gained relatively rich practicalexperiences and outstanding features. The breeding environment and growing progressreflects the developing situation and future trend, as well as the new thoughts and ideas in theoverall advance of urban newspapers in JiLin province.The thesis consists of four parts. In the first part, the concept and definition of theIn-Depth Report are illustrated, including the emerging background and current situation inour nation. In the second part, examples are quoted to demonstrate the developing features ofthe New Culture Newspaper, which is divided into five sections: The direction andsignificance of the ‘In-Depth Report’ in New Culture Newspaper; figure and statisticscategories developed into supporting products; emphasis on humanism in report themes; theshift of focus from provincial to national; fresh pages and abundant assistant reading materialslike comics and pictures. The third part analyzes weaknesses and disadvantages, such as theinsufficiency of themes, quantity and quality; avoidance of social conflicts; disconnectionfrom ordinary life; and unhealthy tendencies towards large, weird and novelty seeking topics;as well as the deficiency of analysis and depth, etc. The last part focuses on the developmentalcountermeasures, involving planning as the key point, ensuring efficient pre-interviews,creating effective multichannel connection, digging profoundly, restoring the nature of events,reporting in multi-angles, pressing close to ordinary life, along with elaborating pages andpost display, etc.Through texts and examples, the thesis displays a variety of features of the ‘In-DepthReport’ in New Culture Newspaper, hoping to picture the environment, features and prospectof In-Depth Report in paper media of JiLin province so as to make tiny contribution to theimprovement of the national news enterprise.
