In recent years, phase noise measurement of various sources received more andmore concerns in many aspects. In the modern communication technology of the radioand radar, it is important for Signal phase noise ito describe an indicator of the stabilityof the signal frequency, at the same time, he corresponding test equipment has beenwidely appreciated.At first, the concepts of the virtual instrument and the phase noise are introduced inthis paper,and then the Application of the algorithms of periodogram, correlogrammethod and Welch in the phase noise spectrum estimation are discussed in detail.Secondly,the performance of the three methods were compared by the theoreticalanalysis and the simulations. Finally, based on the PXI bus system, the phase signal isgained through controlling the data acquisition card,and in the Labview the powerspectrum estimation algorithms is realized, phase noise based on the PXI bus automatictest system is built. It is verified through the actual link test that the program can realizethe classic algorithms of the data power spectrum and give the related processing andanalysis of the transformatic waveforms.
