The spread spectrum system has a strong anti-jamming capability and goodsecurity performance with excellent multi-access communication capabilities.Therefore, it is widely used in the wireless communication systems. With thedevelopment of the wireless communications, it is usually needed to complete the twomain tasks, information transmission and distance measurement, in the wirelesscommunications at the same time. Compared to use two independent systems, that touse a single multiplex system to complete the two tasks reduces the complexity andpower consumption of the equipments, and improves the utilization of equipments.Therefore, it is of great significance to analyze and study the multiplex system ofcommunication and range measurement.In this thesis, two multiplex systems of communication and range measurementwere introduced, respectively, based on direct sequence spread spectrum technologyand soft spread spectrum technology, and the advantages and disadvantages of the twocomplex systems were analyzed. The second multiplex system was discussed in thisthesis. Based on the standards to select the pseudo-random code for the mutliplexsystem, the auto-correlation and cross-correlation properties of the m sequences, Walshsequences and mW sequences were analyzed in this thesis. The TDOA detection is keyfor the multiplex system to accomplish the two tasks which are communication andrange measurement. And the different correlation functions affect the effect of theTDOA detection. Therefore, the four technologies of TDOA detection, respectively,based on general correlation function, generalized general correlation function, cyclecorrelation function and generalized cycle correlation function were analyzed andverified.
