Digital new student registration system is developed based on actual flow of newstudent registration. By means of this system, the whole registration flow takes no morethan10seconds, with extremely high data accuracy.Nowadays, universities have increasing requirements for digital informationconstruction, while traditional new student registration includes such trivial steps asregistration at the reception, check on letter of admission, tuition payment, dormitoryarrangement, handling of health insurance, etc., during which the students are requiredto wait in a long line. In addition, the whole flow is basically performed manually,resulting in heavy workload and mistakes.The letters of admission mailed by the universities to the new students via ouruniversity’s admission data platform software are indicated with the students’ unique barcodes, which will be read with a scanner when registering, for access to all relevantinformation about the students, including their names, specialties, classes, dormitoryaddresses and tuition payment conditions.The digital new student registration system integrates new student registration andcentralized processing of personal information, which will be input into the universities’management systems only by scanning the letters of admission. Works conducted byvarious departments of the universities are linked by integration of data, facilitating bothdata statistics and inquiry by the students themselves.The college enrollment management system is running on the Windows Server2008operating system platform, so as to ensure the efficiency and stability of thesystem; Clients run on Windows XP and Windows7platform for ensuring the diversityof the system operating environment; Using Microsoft Visual Studio.NET2008toolsfor development; Web server is IIS, and the database is Microsoft SQL Server2005.The workflow is as follows: student logins via permissions judgment, ordinary users canonly browse and query the student’s personal information, the system administrator canalso complete management capabilities of the students basic information in addition toordinary users can complete operation. Using WEB technology to build management system of college entrance, it is able to break through the restrictions of time and space,for improving the efficiency of the relevant departments of the College and managementcapabilities.In order to give full consideration to the security of the system, the system uses theIIS mechanism for security management settings, student information stored in thedatabase are encrypted. Using ADO.NET technology and OLEDB interface, it is simpleand efficient to access the database so that the college enrollment management systemcan be always in good running condition.
